Our Pastor

Meet Our Pastor! 

 The Reverend M. Kathryn Knight ("Kathy") was appointed by Bishop Leeland to First United Methodist Church of Milton on July 1, 2011.  A native of Blue Springs, Alabama, Kathy is a graduate of Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  She holds a Master of Divinity degree and is working on her doctorate in Preaching and Liturgical Worship at Perkins. 

As an ordained elder in the Alabama - West Florida Conference, Kathy has served as a member of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry since 2011, where she has served as the Team Leader of the group Candidacy Team, and has Co-Chaired the Proclaimation and Teaching Interview Teams for prospective ordinands. She is the Vice-Chair of the Conference Board of Trustees and the Vice-Chair of the Standing Rules Committee of the Conference. Formerly, she chaired the Conference Committee on Petitions and Resolutions for four years and served as a member for eight years.

Prior to being appointed to First United Methodist Church of Milton, Kathy was the pastor of Citronelle United Methodist Church in Citronelle, Alabama, and the intern pastor of First United Methodist Church of Coppell, Texas.  Prior to entering seminary, she practiced law for 23 years in Alabama.  She is also a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and Samford University, where she received her juris doctor and bachelor of arts degrees, respectively.
